And, so begins Christmas Wish 2020! We start by keeping the light on for a driven, well-mannered young man named Charles. Nominated by his Aunt Eunice Kayese, Charles Majongwe is exceptionally talented. A burgeoning NBA prodigy, Charles holds a silver medal for the NBA Junior finals where he represented South Africa. He captains his high school team at Parktown Boys’ High, and Charles has also been invited by Shoot360 for trials in Los Angeles.

His bright future however has not been without it’s trying past. In 2014, Charles lost his father in the much-publicized collapse of a church building in Nigeria. Since then, Charles’ family has been struggling to make ends meet. His mother, Charity has unfortunately taken ill this year and has subsequently lost her job, as her enduring chronic illness has rendered her unable to work. This, unfortunately, leaves dedicated, intelligent, hard-working Charles in danger of not completing his studies.

An anonymous and frequent donor of Hot Cares heard about Charles’ predicament and took it upon themselves to ensure that Charles’ bright continues to shine. This donor will be paying for all of Charles’ tuition and boarding school expenses for Grade 11 (R86 000), allowing him to focus on his future and not fret about that which is out of his control.
