Last winter, Hot Cares lent some Hot Cares help to the Have a Heart Foundation by replacing all the windows in their building which had been smashed in, making the shelter vulnerable to the cold.
Since then, they’ve had to move premises (for the better) and have now partnered with Wings of Inspiration – a great organisation that does a lot in the community – to renovate and retrofit the warehouse space they’ve found to make it fit for use as an old age home.
To help them get settled and make the place homely, Hot Cares has purchased 24 beds and mattresses. Thank you to Mattress Factory who’ve donated pillows for each bed. And in the heartwarming spirit of Ubuntu, a Hot 91.9 FM listener called in to donate her old kitchen to this very worthy cause.
Hot Cares – Making A Meaningful Difference in the Lives of Those Around Us.
I have a really awesome Angel friend, Isabel Swarts, who works for a Charity called Care to be Kind. They support and run a care house for people in Rustenburg. They have recently lost their benefactor, so are trying to raise funds in all ways possible for rent, electricity, food, toiletries etc. They are on the verge of having to close this Care House facility, this will be heartbreaking, so they are trying every avenue to save this from happening. It is a passion this group of people have to care for these families. With winter approaching these families need shelter and this is becoming very difficult. They have started a care pledge incentive with all the friends to commit to donating R100.00 a month to hopefully keep the rent and electricity bills paid. They have had fundraisers and many of us donate our old clothing, linen, furniture which is either used or sold to bring in much needed funds to purchase food and or pay the bills. Their rent is R6900.00 per month and Water and electricity +- R2000.00.
I would appreciate it if HOT Cares could give Isabel a call and see what you could do to help and possible get our community involved in either donating or helping in some way to help that small community to survive. They are a registered NGO and can provide a section 18a Certificate.
Please contact me should you be able help us save this home. I will then give you all Isabel’s contact details and she can get any information you may need to you.
This lady is just the most wonderful caring person this small charity could wish for. Her team of helpers and are awesome too.
Holding thumbs.
