Bring mobility and dignity to children with Cerebral Palsy
At Hot Cares, we believe in changing lives and lifting up those who need it most. This festive season, we are proud to partner with the Chair’ished Children Project by Boikanyo the Dion Herson Foundation, a life-changing initiative that provides specialized wheelchairs to children with cerebral palsy in deep rural South Africa.
These buggies are not just mobility aids—they are a gateway to dignity and independence. For children who are often confined to beds or floors, a buggy means sitting upright, engaging with the world, and accessing opportunities like attending school or simply playing with friends. For their caregivers, many of whom are elderly grandmothers, these wheelchairs are a lifeline, alleviating the physical and emotional toll of carrying their growing children on their backs. Despite the challenges faced by these families, the Chair’ished Children initiative is making a profound impact, having distributed hundreds of buggies across underserved areas like KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo, Eastern Cape, and Mpumalanga. This December, with our support, they will be reaching even more children.
Hot Cares is proud to cover the remaining costs of their December initiative, valued at R52,000. This includes not only buggy spares but also fortified meals to combat malnutrition, ensuring the health and energy of these children and their caregivers.
By partnering with this incredible project, we are giving the gift of mobility, empowerment, and hope to children and families who have been overlooked for far too long.
This is what the spirit of Christmas is all about—making a tangible difference where it matters most. Together, with our listeners, we are bringing joy and dignity to these remarkable children.
