Bringing hope to Candice and her boys

This Hot Cares Christmas, we’re stepping in to support Candice, a single mother facing unimaginable challenges while caring for her two young autistic sons, Cameron and Cayden.

Cameron is minimally verbal, and Cayden’s self-harming and violent behavior has created a deeply stressful and dangerous home environment. Despite her love and dedication, Candice is physically and emotionally overwhelmed. Her health has deteriorated due to stress, and financial constraints have made it impossible for her to access the medical and psychological support her family urgently needs.

At Hot Cares, we believe no one should face such challenges alone. That’s why we’re taking action to provide Candice and her boys with the support they desperately need, totaling R138,000.

For Cameron, we’re funding speech therapy to help him better communicate his needs, and for Cayden,

we’re providing cognitive behavioral therapy and covering the co-payment for a much-needed MRI scan to aid in his diagnosis and care plan.

To support Candice, we’re offering therapy sessions to help her regain emotional strength and chiropractic care to address the physical toll of caregiving. Additionally, we’ll fund administration-related courses over the next six months to help her upskill and secure long-term employment.

To ease her daily burden, Hot Cares is also funding a carer for the boys and providing shopping vouchers so Candice and her family can enjoy a joyful and stress-free festive season.

This Christmas, we’re not just addressing immediate needs—we’re investing in a brighter future for Candice and her boys. It’s a reminder that even in the face of adversity, hope and community support can transform lives. Together, we’re giving this remarkable family the chance to rebuild and thrive.
