Restoring Levi’s smile and joy
At Hot Cares, we believe every child deserves a chance to thrive, play, and enjoy their childhood without limitations. This year, as part of our Hot Cares Christmas initiative, we were deeply moved by the story of Levi, a resilient 9-year-old whose bright smile has been dimmed by an unfortunate accident.
Levi has been a beacon of joy for his foster family since they welcomed him as a six-month-old. However, in October 2023, a trampoline accident left Levi with severe damage to the bone supporting his front teeth. This injury has made simple joys like eating, laughing, and playing with friends a challenge, as the loosened teeth have caused recurring abscesses and discomfort.
Despite wearing braces to stabilize the teeth, the problem persists, and the family faces the urgent need for a complex dental procedure. This includes removing the damaged teeth, performing bone augmentation, and fitting a temporary dental plate to safeguard Levi’s oral health until he is old enough for permanent implants.
