Supporting Kate’s home of love and care
At Hot Cares, we are inspired by individuals who dedicate their lives to uplifting others. This Christmas, we are honored to support Kate Ntseare, a remarkable woman who has created a haven of love and care for 11 children with disabilities in the rural settlement of Empumelelweni Kromdraai, near eMalahleni.
The children under Kate’s care face significant challenges, including Cerebral Palsy and intellectual disabilities, requiring constant attention and support. Despite limited resources, Kate has selflessly stepped in to provide these children with a home and a sense of family, referring to them affectionately as “my children.”
Without government support, Kate relies on community donations and a local company’s assistance with groceries. Yet, these contributions are not enough to meet the daily needs of the children, who require specialized care, nappies, food, and other essentials.
This Christmas, Hot Cares is stepping in to ease Kate’s immense burden. We are providing 11 convoluted mattresses for the children’s comfort, a solar inverter and panel to bring reliable electricity to the home, a custom buggy for Lily—one of the children with Cerebral Palsy—to sit comfortably, and a 12-month supply of nappies and groceries. This assistance, valued at R180,000, will ensure Kate has the support she needs to continue her extraordinary work.
Kate’s unwavering commitment and compassion are a powerful example of how one person’s love can transform lives. By standing with her, we celebrate the dignity and potential of every child in her care.
This Hot Cares Christmas, we are reminded of the profound impact we can make when we come together to support those who give so selflessly to others. Together, we can create brighter futures and lasting change.
