Supporting Thando’s dream of becoming an attorney

This Hot Cares Christmas, we’re shining a light on the inspiring journey of Thando Nhlumayo, a young man whose determination and perseverance remind us of the power of dreams. At just 25 years old, Thando has faced significant challenges, yet his unwavering focus on building a better future for himself and his family has never faltered. Growing up in a single-parent household, Thando’s path has not been easy. His mother, Maria, worked tirelessly to support him until a devastating stroke left her unable to continue.

Despite these hardships, Thando excelled academically, earning distinctions in his Diploma in Law from UNISA. With the support of Christine Voigt, who has been a constant in his life, he has managed to pursue his LLB degree while working full-time at a legal firm.

Thando’s commitment to his education is evident in the sacrifices he makes—walking long distances to save on transport and repaying loans for his tuition from his modest salary. His ambition, integrity, and gratitude shine through in everything he does.

Hot Cares is proud to step in and support Thando in his journey. We’re covering the remaining balance of his LLB fees, relieving him of his current loan repayments, and funding his transport costs for the entire year—a total contribution of R72,000.

Thando’s story is one of resilience, gratitude, and hope. This Christmas, we’re honored to help him take another step toward achieving his dream of becoming an attorney and making a lasting impact in his community.
