Hot Cares Steps In to Help Bhavishka Hear Clearly Again

Bhavishka Bharath is a 22-year-old second-year teaching student at Rosebank College, driven by her passion to make a difference as an educator. However, her academic journey has been hindered by a severe hearing impairment that requires urgent attention. Over the years, Bhavishka’s hearing has deteriorated to the point where her current hearing aids no longer suffice, and without new ones, her ability to fully participate in lectures and practical assessments is at risk.

Her family is facing financial constraints, with her single mother, living in Pietermaritzburg, unable to afford the R31,000 needed for new hearing aids. Additionally, Bhavishka has recently been diagnosed with hypertension but cannot afford the necessary tests or consultations to manage her condition. While her uncle and aunt in Johannesburg offer her shelter, their combined resources are still not enough to cover these medical needs.

Despite sitting at the front of the classroom, Bhavishka struggles to hear clearly in group settings and frequently finds herself asking for instructions to be repeated. This has led to significant stress and anxiety, causing her to fear that her academic performance, especially in practical teaching assessments, may suffer.

At Hot Cares, we recognize how critical it is for Bhavishka to regain her hearing and restore her confidence. That’s why we are stepping in to provide Bhavishka with the new hearing aids she desperately needs. These hearing aids will allow her to engage fully in her studies, communicate effectively, and pursue her dream of becoming a teacher.

By supporting Bhavishka, we’re not only improving her quality of life but also investing in her future as an educator. We believe in her potential to make a positive impact, and we’re honoured to play a part in her journey.
