Hot Cares Joins Hands with The Matthew 25 Project to Build a Safe Haven for Vulnerable Children

The Matthew 25 Project serves as a critical sanctuary for abandoned, abused, and neglected children, rescuing them from unimaginable circumstances such as physical and sexual abuse, trafficking, and extreme neglect. Founded by Carol Foster and her husband just two years ago, the children’s home provides a loving and stable environment where these children, who have faced some of the most severe forms of adversity, can heal and flourish.

The children under Carol’s care come from heart-wrenching backgrounds. Some were born into prostitution, while others were victims of abuse, neglected, or even abandoned. Despite their traumatic pasts, the children are blossoming in the nurturing environment at Matthew 25. One particularly moving story involves a 9-year-old boy who single-handedly cared for his baby sister and ill grandmother, doing his best to cook and clean. Now, he is thriving in school and has learned to embrace his childhood.

However, The Matthew 25 Project has reached a critical moment. Though they have recently received a new Wendy cottage sponsored by Rotary Aurora to house the older boys, they urgently need help finishing and furnishing the house to free up space in the main home. This would allow them to take in more children in dire need of a safe place. Currently, they have paused new intakes until the boys can move into their new space.

Hot Cares, moved by the incredible work of Carol and her team, recognizes the importance of completing this space. The new boys’ home will not only provide the older boys with a sense of responsibility, ownership, and individuality, but it will also allow Matthew 25 to take in additional children and continue their mission of offering hope and stability to those in desperate need.

We are proud to announce that Hot Cares will be covering the full cost of the Novilon flooring (R42,886.25), a durable and easy-to-clean solution that will insulate the home and keep the children warm in the winter. In addition, we will also contribute the funds needed for essential furniture, bedding, and fittings (R38,603.93), making the Wendy house a truly functional and welcoming home.

With a total donation of R81,490.18, Hot Cares is honored to support the Matthew 25 Project in providing these children with the sanctuary they deserve. We believe this assistance will empower Carol and her team to continue their vital work and help more children find love, safety, and a brighter future.
