At Hot Cares, we are constantly inspired by the stories of individuals and organizations making a tangible difference in our communities. One such organization is One Small Act of Kindness, led by the remarkable Kelly-Ann Van Der Meer. Kelly-Ann has dedicated her life to helping the most vulnerable, from offering temporary foster care for children to supporting the elderly, homeless, and those in need.
Recently, we were contacted by a grateful family member who shared a heartfelt story about how Kelly-Ann stepped in to provide a safe and loving environment for their family member’s children during a challenging custody case. Kelly’s selflessness ensured that the children not only had a temporary home, but also emotional and practical support during a difficult time. This is just one example of the countless lives she has touched through her tireless efforts.
However, the demand for Kelly’s sanctuary has surged recently, and One Small Act of Kindness is now facing unprecedented financial pressure.
