Hot Cares and The Dis-Chem Foundation empower Mia’s journey to success with life-changing hearing devices”

At Hot Cares, we believe in the power of community and support, especially for children facing extraordinary challenges. One such remarkable child is Mia Ashleigh, a vibrant 9-year-old with a love for creativity and fashion. Despite her profound hearing loss in one ear and mild-severe loss in the other, Mia continues to thrive academically and socially, thanks to her resilience and the support of her loving parents, Elroy and Annastacia.

As Mia prepares for her next academic journey beyond Grade 3, her family has reached out to Hot Cares for assistance. To help Mia hear clearly in class and keep up with her peers, she requires specialized hearing devices—a Roger Touchscreen Mic and a Roger MyLink device—costing over R26,000. These devices will be instrumental in allowing her to engage fully in her education, reducing communication barriers and empowering her with the confidence to participate actively in classroom discussions.

Thanks to our partnership with The Dis-Chem Foundation, we are excited to share that Mia’s dream of receiving these devices is now a reality. The foundation has generously committed to covering the full cost, ensuring Mia has the tools she needs to succeed.
