Stepping in to help SPCA Randfontein and Westonaria in their time of need

At Hot Cares, we believe in making a real difference where it matters most. When we heard about the devastating situation at the SPCA Randfontein and Westonaria branch, we knew we had to step in and help.

Recently, this SPCA branch suffered severe losses due to vandalism. Thieves stole the roof off one of their buildings, along with a much-needed fridge, leaving their offices, storerooms, and essential spaces flooded. The damage was so extensive that the branch was forced to close, putting over 100 animals at risk. With continued rain and no funds for repairs, the future of the facility—and the lives of the animals it cares for—was in serious jeopardy.

Despite these hardships, the dedicated staff at the SPCA Randfontein and Westonaria continue to fight for the well-being of the animals in their care. Their unwavering commitment to providing shelter, food, and medical treatment for stray and abandoned animals inspired us to take action.

Hot Cares is stepping in with R20,000 to cover the cost of repairing the roof, ensuring that the branch can reopen and continue its vital work. But we’re not stopping there—we’re also donating a brand-new fridge (valued at R8,000) so they can safely store food and medicine for the animals. Additionally, we’ll be providing 100 blankets to help keep the animals warm and comfortable.

We are proud to support the SPCA Randfontein and Westonaria and hope that this contribution will help them get back on their feet. Every animal deserves care and compassion, and with the help of our community, we can make a real impact.
