Plakkies for Palesa Revisited: A Story that keeps giving

The donation dramatically improved her quality of life — and her story didn’t end there.
This month, Hot Cares and Silverstar revisited Palesa at her home to see how she’s been doing — and brought more good news. During the initial visit, it was discovered that two more learners, Amogelang and Thembalethu, were in need of specialized wheelchairs due to CP Dyskinesia and CP Spastic Quadriplegia.
In true Hot Cares spirit, and with support from Silverstar, over R80,000 was donated to cover the full cost of these two life-changing mobility aids. The new wheelchairs now offer both learners the chance to move more freely, participate in class, and enjoy a greater sense of independence and dignity.
This return visit wasn’t just a check-in — it was a celebration of progress, hope, and the power of community kindness.
