Bringing relief and hope to Adele’s fight against cancer

At Hot Cares, our mission is to make meaningful and sustainable differences in the lives of those facing extraordinary challenges. Today, we are honored to support Adele Ferreira, a courageous woman battling tongue cancer.

Adele’s journey has been incredibly tough. Diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma, she has undergone life-altering surgeries, including the removal of most of her tongue and glands in her neck. These procedures have left her unable to properly swallow, clear her airways, or breathe with ease. Her speech therapist has recommended an aspirator, a medical device that would greatly improve her quality of life by helping her safely clear her airways. However, the cost of the aspirator, approximately R4,000, is beyond Adele’s financial means and is not covered by her medical aid.

On top of this, Adele requires regular physiotherapy sessions following a skin graft procedure, as well as ongoing medication, both of which place further financial strain on her and her family.

Hot Cares, with the generous support of One Insurance, is stepping in to provide Adele with the aspirator she urgently needs and to cover her therapy and medication expenses for the next six months, contributing a total of R36,000. This support not only relieves Adele’s financial burden but also ensures she receives the compassionate care and dignity she deserves.
