From volunteer to visionary: Shanice Lewis named Chartall bursary winner

Hot Cares, in partnership with Chartall Business College, is proud to announce that Shanice Lewis has been selected as the recipient of the 2025 Chartall Bursary – a life-changing opportunity that will see her earn a Bachelor of Business Administration degree valued at R160,000.

Since completing matric in 2021, Shanice has dedicated herself to growth and upliftment, undertaking online courses, volunteering in her community, and co-hosting a local radio show. She’s a self-starter with a clear vision and a heart for service – qualities that made her stand out to the Chartall selection panel.

The bursary includes three years of tuition, a laptop, access to a digital library, and a starter pack – all the tools she needs to thrive academically and professionally.

Unaware that she had already been chosen, Shanice arrived at HOT 102.7FM believing she was participating in the final round of interviews. In an emotional on-air moment, she was surprised with the announcement by Chartall CEO Leigh-Ann Revill, turning what she thought would be another audition into the first step of a brand-new chapter.

Shanice plans to use her degree to formalise her skills, support her family, and build a business with her father. Her journey is a testament to what’s possible when determination meets opportunity.
