Hot Cares and Silverstar support St Ansgar High’s Matric Camp

At Hot Cares, we know that education is a powerful tool for change, and that’s why we’re thrilled to support the Grade 12 students from St Ansgar High School during their NSC exams. Many of these students come from informal settlements around Lanseria, where socio-economic challenges make it difficult to focus on studies at home. By providing a stable, distraction-free environment at the Refilwe Youth Centre, this camp offers these learners the chance to prepare for their final exams in a setting that supports their success.

Principal RJ Chabalala reached out to Hot Cares with a request for assistance, explaining the essential needs of the 50 matric students staying at the camp, including food, toiletries, and study materials. In response, we joined forces with our partners at Silverstar, who are generously sponsoring a week at the camp with R25,000, covering essential costs that ease the burden on students and their families.

This support goes beyond just practical help—it provides peace of mind, helping to reduce stress and allowing students to focus fully on their studies. Success in these exams can open doors to higher education and future employment, providing a path toward breaking cycles of poverty and achieving long-term financial stability.
