Hot Cares helps Shimone rise from the ashes

At Hot Cares, we believe in supporting those who show strength and resilience in the face of adversity. That’s why, when we heard about Shimone Mostert’s story, we knew we had to lend a helping hand.

Shimone is a single mother and the proud owner of a beloved salon that she built from the ground up. For eight years, her salon was not only a source of income but also a sanctuary for her clients and a place of comfort within her community. Tragically, on the eve of her salon’s 8th anniversary, a devastating fire reduced everything she had worked for to ashes.

With no insurance payout available until investigations are complete, Shimone was left with nothing but her determination to rebuild. Despite the heartbreak, she quickly found temporary premises and, with the help of her loyal community, began offering basic hair and nail services again. However, much of her equipment was lost, and key aspects of her business—like her beauty academy and mobile wedding services—remain on hold.

Recognizing her incredible resilience and the vital role her business plays in her family’s livelihood, Hot Cares is stepping in to support Shimone as she rebuilds. We are providing essential equipment valued at R30,000 to help her get back on her feet. This includes three massage beds, portable cases for her mobile wedding callouts, extra hair towels, capes, a hood dryer, rollers, and beauty trolleys.

This support will not only help Shimone restore her salon but also revive her beauty academy and mobile services—ensuring she can continue providing for her family and community.

At Hot Cares, we believe in standing with those who uplift others. Shimone is a beacon of hope, and we are proud to help her rebuild her dream.
