Hot Cares partners with SADAG to support lifesaving mental health helpline”

At Hot Cares, we are committed to making a meaningful impact in our community, and one of the most pressing issues today is mental health. In partnership with the South African Depression and Anxiety Group (SADAG), we are working to ensure that crucial mental health services remain accessible to those in need. SADAG has been a lifeline for individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, and other mental health challenges for over 30 years, and their work has never been more important.

The COVID-19 pandemic has amplified mental health issues, with more people than ever seeking help for stress-related disorders, grief, and anxiety. Unfortunately, access to mental health services is still limited for many South Africans due to financial constraints, lack of awareness, and stigma. That’s why we are proud to support SADAG by covering the operating costs of one of their vital helplines for a month with a contribution of R100,000.

This helpline is a critical resource, offering 24-hour, toll-free support for individuals in crisis. It connects people with professional help, provides immediate counselling, and offers referrals to support groups and mental health professionals. We believe that by supporting SADAG, we are helping to make a real difference in the lives of those who need it most.

Mental health knows no boundaries, and we at Hot Cares are dedicated to helping SADAG extend their reach and provide support to every South African facing mental health challenges. Together, we can build a more compassionate and understanding community.
