Hot Cares supports Greyhound Welfare SA: Isla’s remarkable journey

At Hot Cares, we believe in lending a hand wherever it’s needed, whether to people or animals in our community. That’s why we were moved to action when Greyhound Welfare SA shared Isla’s incredible story of survival and resilience.

When Isla was rescued from Secunda, she was severely malnourished, injured, and struggling to care for her two 15-day-old puppies. Despite her pain, she selflessly gave everything to her pups, ensuring their survival. Her journey since then has been nothing short of extraordinary. After months of dedicated care, including multiple surgeries and the amputation of her toe and leg, Isla gained 12kg and has adapted beautifully to life with three legs. Her puppies have thrived and are now healthy and strong, thanks to her strength and the exceptional care provided by Greyhound Welfare SA.

This organization is a lifeline for greyhounds rescued from abuse, neglect, and illegal hunting practices. Their work goes beyond rehabilitation and rehoming; they also advocate for responsible pet ownership and ethical treatment of animals. However, the cost of Isla’s extensive veterinary care has placed a financial strain on their resources.
