Stepping in to help save Hope’s sight

Hope is a talented chef, an ambitious entrepreneur, and a devoted mother. She worked hard to build her business, starting with juice production and later expanding into event organizing. But in January 2025, her life changed drastically—she lost sight in one eye due to complications from diabetes. A government hospital operation didn’t go as planned, and now, her only remaining eye is at risk of permanent blindness.

Hope’s situation is urgent. While generous doctors have covered the R200,000 cost of her surgery, she still needs R35,000 to cover her hospital stay. Without this, she cannot proceed with the life-changing procedure that could save her vision.

Losing her sight would mean losing more than just her career—it would take away her independence and her ability to care for her 14-year-old daughter. One of the hardest parts for Hope is that she can barely see her daughter’s artwork, something that brings so much joy to their lives.
