Stepping in to support 25 rescued goats in urgent need

At Hot Cares, we believe that every act of kindness matters, and when we heard about the Randburg SPCA’s latest rescue mission, we knew we had to step in.

Last month, SAPS impounded a vehicle under suspicious circumstances and found 25 distressed goats crammed inside. These animals had endured extreme dehydration, exhaustion, and severe tick and worm infestations—a horrifying ordeal, especially for the pregnant females in the group.

The Randburg SPCA, already overwhelmed, did what they always do—they stepped up, without hesitation. They provided shelter, medical treatment, and nourishment, ensuring the goats had a safe space to recover. But taking in 25 extra animals is a massive financial and logistical burden, stretching already-limited resources to the brink.

That’s why Hot Cares, alongside Silverstar, is stepping in to help!

We are donating R20,000 to assist with:

  • Medical treatment – including deworming, tick treatments, and veterinary care
  • Nutritious food – Lucerne, fresh vegetables, and specialised feed for the pregnant goats
  • Comfortable shelter – proper bedding and fencing for a safe recovery

The SPCA carries the heavy responsibility of protecting animals that have no voice. They never turn an animal away, no matter how overwhelming the circumstances. And today, we are standing with them.

To the Randburg SPCA team—thank you for your dedication and compassion. You are true heroes, and we are honoured to support your incredible work.
