HOT Cares Helps Emily Ndlovu Rebuild her Life After Devastating Fire
Some people really do have dreadful luck and Hot Cares sees it all the time with the stories that come through to us.
On this occasion, from Blydie Willemse, who is a Contract Manager at Rencharm, which provides cleaning services, health and safety, and nurses to elderly care centres.
One of her laundry operators at a high care facility, Emily Ndlovu, messaged her late at night to tell her that her house in Sebokeng had burnt down and that she would be unable to come to work.
“It was very upsetting, with Emily – who is in her late-50s – informing me that she was okay, but had lost everything,” said Blydie. “I am so upset, because I don’t understand why these things happen. Emily is a hard worker and much loved by everybody. She does not deserve this.”
Emily also has children, so the impact of this tragedy is huge.
“Emily’s daughter stays in a room at the back of her property and thankfully she was visiting her at the time of the fire, as she said she heard people in the street screaming, so she ran out to see what was happening and tragically saw her house engulfed in flames,” said Blydie.
Blydie asked if there was anything Hot Cares could do for Emily, as she was left with nothing, including clothes, bedding etc.
“Emily is a much-loved member of the company, she has the best heart and an amazing work ethic, and her team are devastated for her loss,” said Blydie.
Hot Cares was so saddened to hear of Emily’s loss and we can only begin to imagine how difficult it must be, but we are in a position to help. Hot Cares will be assisting Emily with clothing, blankets and household goods, and Joburg’s Hottest Breakfast Show broke the good news to Blydie live on air.
Hot Cares knows that this is just the start of the rebuilding process for Emily, so we appeal to our listeners to contact info@hotcares.co.za if they would like to make a monetary or household item donation to Emily.
Similarly, if you are in a position to donate towards making a meaningful difference or have a story to alert us to, or a programme you’d like to partner with Hot Cares on, please get in touch with us by emailing the same address.
