Hot Cares and Silverstar Pay it Forward with Support for Blue Bush Animal Clinic
Hot Cares and Silverstar Casino continue to ‘pay it forward’ with another heart-warming story.
It’s part of the Silverstar Pays It Forward campaign, in partnership with HOT 102.7FM and HOT Cares.
Hot Cares and Silverstar are calling for nominations, for individuals, initiatives or organizations that could do with some help. You know – the ones that really deserve some assistance.
Every Wednesday on the HOT 1027 Breakfast, a life – or lives – will be changed. See further below for contact details.
Our next story concerns Dr Natasha Ross and her team at Blue Bush Animal Clinic, which is a privately-run veterinary clinic that has been operating for 30 years. In 2009 they opened their own shelter so that they could re-home all animals that came to them injured or sick and didn’t have a home to go to.
The hearts are definitely in the right place at Blue Bush Animal Clinic, as they’ve always done at least 30%-50% of their work at cost price or pro bono for non-profit organisations or needy cases.
It’s clear that they’ve always tried to stick to putting the needs of the animals first and providing the same standard of care to them all, whether they arrive in a BMW or with a barefoot child from the nearby informal settlement.
This was something that definitely came through when Dr Ross joined the HOT 1027 Breakfast team on air, along with Deon Basson of Silverstar.
Here she was able to tell the team how Blue Bush Animal Clinic relied on donations for the upkeep and running of the shelter and that whilst they have some supportive clients who make generous donations, it’s just not enough to fund all the work they do and ensure they have the means to provide for the animals in their care.
On top of that, Blue Bush Animal Clinic has had some challenges in recent years, such as going from a five to a two-vet practice, which has only contributed to the financial pinch.
It was clear from Dr Ross that they need as much support as possible to be able to keep up their incredible work and care for the needy animals.
That’s why Silverstar and Hot Cares just want to help where we can, and Deon was able to break the good news to Dr Ross, on air, telling her on the HOT 1027 Breakfast that Silverstar will be donating R20 000 to the shelter!
We hope this goes some way to helping Dr Ross and her team continue running the shelter and doing the fantastic work they do.
