Hot Cares and Silverstar back brave girl’s therapy journey to independence

Confidence Ramaila is an extraordinary eight-year-old girl from Kya Sands whose courage in the face of life-altering challenges has inspired everyone at Hot Cares. Born with undiagnosed disabilities and unable to speak, Confidence spent the first eight years of her life without a clear diagnosis, leaving her excluded from schools and specialised care.

That changed recently when a fall led to her being assessed and finally diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and Autism Spectrum Disorder — a breakthrough that opened the door to appropriate therapy. With early intervention now possible, her physical and communication abilities have already begun improving thanks to surgery and access to physical and speech therapy.

But her journey is far from over. Confidence needs weekly therapy sessions and nutritional support over the next six months to maintain her momentum and prepare her for special needs schooling in 2026. Sadly, financial constraints have limited these vital sessions to just once a month, and her weakened immune system due to Cerebral Palsy makes consistent nutrition and care even more urgent.

Hot Cares knew we had to act — and we reached out to our friends at Silverstar. We are so proud to share that Silverstar has come on board with a R25,000 donation to cover the costs of weekly transport to therapy and provide critical nutritional support.

This act of kindness is more than a donation — it’s a stepping stone to a brighter future. For Confidence, it’s a chance at independence. For her mother, Penelope, it’s hope and the potential to return to work. Together, we are helping this brave little girl thrive.
