Hot Cares helps A New Hope take their mission to Comic Con

A New Hope Dog Rescue is not your average animal shelter. It’s a place of transformation—a sanctuary where abused, abandoned, and forgotten dogs are given a second chance at life. For nearly a decade, this family-run, registered non-profit has worked tirelessly to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals in need. With over 60 dogs, 10 cats, and 3 bunnies in their care, the team lives on-site, dedicating their days and nights to nurturing each animal back to health and happiness.

What makes A New Hope remarkable is their unwavering determination to fund their work creatively and sustainably. One such initiative is their participation at Comic Con Johannesburg—a space where they can raise awareness and funds by selling handcrafted merchandise. It’s not just a stall. It’s a lifeline.

Hot Cares was moved by their spirit of resilience and self-reliance. Rowan Moodley and his team don’t just ask for help—they work hard to create it. So when they approached us to assist with covering the R31,000 needed to attend Comic Con and produce stock, we knew we had to step in.
