Building sustainable change in Randburg’s communities
In community halls, classrooms and small home businesses across Randburg, independence is being built — one practical step at a time.
People4Purpose has become a quiet force for dignity in communities like Diepsloot and Cosmo City. Founded by Landy Yeatman after her own life-changing battle with cancer, the organisation was born from gratitude — and from a firm belief in offering a hand up, not a handout.
That belief is visible in everything they do.
Donated clothing becomes income-generating stock for women starting small resale businesses. Mothers caring for special-needs children are supported to find work-from-home opportunities. Smaller NPOs receive mentorship and compliance guidance to strengthen their impact.
“We don’t just respond to need,” Landy explains. “We look for sustainable solutions that restore dignity and create independence.”
But even the most powerful vision relies on practical tools.
Feeding schemes cannot serve meals safely without proper bowls and cutlery. Small traders cannot grow organised businesses without structured storage. Early childhood centres need order to function effectively.

When Hot Cares heard about People4Purpose’s urgent request for bowls, cutlery and plastic storage containers, we knew this was more than a list of items — it was an opportunity to strengthen a system already working.
Thanks to Silverstar’s generous support, these essential tools — to the value of R25 000 — will now directly equip feeding schemes, shelters, schools and small traders to operate with greater structure, safety and dignity.
This is not about once-off relief.
It is about reinforcing independence.
And when independence grows, communities grow stronger.
That is the difference Hot Cares continues to make — together with partners who believe that practical support can unlock lasting change.
