At 74, he’s the lifeline to eight foster children, driving over 120 kilometres every day to make sure they get to school, therapy, and activities. Alongside his wife Debbie, Bruce has opened his heart and home to children in need for over a decade, providing not just shelter, but unwavering love and structure.

Despite his tireless efforts, Bruce has been quietly coping with a significant challenge—hearing loss. Suffering from hereditary deafness and left with only one outdated, failing hearing aid, Bruce is now functioning at just 20% hearing capacity. The state clinic he relies on doesn’t have the resources to help, and the cost of new hearing aids is out of reach.
