Silverstar and Hot Cares step in to support WMACA this Winter

As the cold grips Gauteng, there are children across our province who face winter not just without adequate warmth, but while carrying the trauma of abuse and neglect. Women and Men Against Child Abuse (WMACA) has long stood on the frontlines for these children—offering medical, psychological, and legal support through their Kidz Clinics and preventative programmes.

At Hot Cares, their story moved us deeply. The clinics don’t just treat survivors—they prepare them to face courtrooms, help them reclaim their voices, and walk the long road to healing. But even the strongest child cannot walk that road barefoot or sleep soundly when they’re shivering. That’s why this winter, we’re stepping in.

Thanks to our partners at Silverstar, we’re donating school shoes, warm blankets, and beanies to children supported by WMACA—up to the value of R20,000. It’s more than just keeping kids warm. It’s telling them: you are seen, you are worthy, and you are not alone.

In honour of Child Protection Week, we’re proud to support WMACA’s critical mission to break the cycle of abuse. Together, we can restore dignity where it’s been taken, and warmth where it’s needed most.
