Where stories grow – a special gift for a special daycare

In the heart of Windsor, Little Sunshine Christian Daycare has long been a beacon of hope for children growing up in challenging circumstances. Run by the devoted Martha Njenga, this daycare offers more than just education – it provides a safe space, warm meals, and a nurturing environment for little ones who often face hardship at home.

For many of these children, the two daily meals they receive at the centre are their only source of nourishment. It’s a heartbreaking reality – one that Martha faces with unwavering compassion and strength. But she dreams bigger: she wants to create a library, a colourful corner filled with books that spark imagination, foster learning, and offer each child the chance to dream beyond their circumstances.

When Hot Cares heard Martha’s plea, we knew we had to help. Together with our generous partners at Silverstar, we’re proud to donate books, educational equipment, and vibrant décor to bring her vision to life – a brand-new library valued at R20 000.

But our support doesn’t stop there. Understanding the importance of nutrition in early childhood development, Hot Cares will also be assisting with the centre’s nutritional needs until the end of the year – ensuring each child continues to receive wholesome meals every day.
